James (Jim) Hill, DVM
Dr. Hill attended Purdue University Veterinary School. He started Vista Hills Animal Hospital in December of 2011. He has practiced on the south side of Indianapolis for 12 years before that. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1999. He likes to keep educated by going to many continuing education seminars. Dr. Hill has a dog named Kinley, she is a 1 year old mix breed he adopted. In his spare time he likes to go on mission trips, attend church, rebuild small engines, gardening, tractor pulling, and likes to volunteer when he has time. Dr. Hill chose his staff because the majority of them have worked with him in the past. He has high standards of care while, being flexible and understanding client needs and financial situations. Dr. Hill was a 10 year 4-H member and showed rabbits. His experiences in 4-H are the reason he became a veterinarian.
Laura Smith, DVM
Dr. Laura Smith graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. She then did post- baccalaureate studies at the University of Louisville before graduating with her veterinary degree from Purdue University. Eager to learn more, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in Southfield, MI. She worked in emergency practice for 8 years and general practice for 2 years before beginning as a full time veterinarian at Vista Hills. She has three cats: Zen, Skitz, and Ignatius. In her spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys doing genealogy, revolutionary war re-enactments, reading, and is an officer in the Indiana Mayflower Society and the Indiana Jamestowne Society.
Elizabeth, Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth Booth is a veterinary assistant with over 20 years experience. She has her associate degree in science. Elizabeth lives with her husband Brian, Children Tyler, Brandon, Benjamin and her cat Keiko.
Keegan, Veterinary Assistant
Keegan graduated from Harrison College with an Associate of Applied Science. He currently returned back to IUPUI for a degree in social studies education. He has one pet, a dog, named Ollie.
Maria, Veterinary Assistant
Maria has been working as a veterinary assistant for 10 years and she really enjoys working with senior pets and assisting in surgery. She has six cats and a dog who all share a home with her and her husband. She enjoys reading, online gaming, hiking and drawing. Maria is currently studying biology in the Purdue school of science at IUPUI.
Brenda, Veterinary Assistant
Brenda has worked in the veterinary field for many years. She has a daughter in grad school and a son in undergrad. She has been married to her husband for 26 years. They also have 3 cats; Mystique, Duchess and Mabel. They were all rescue cats that found their forever home.
Caitlin has a passion for working with animals and has worked in the animal field for over 10 years. She grew up always having dogs in her life and currently has 2 mixed breed babies, Polly and Bridget. She rescued them as puppies and truly loves and treats them as her fur kids. She also enjoys reading, cooking, especially baking, and has a degree from Ivy Tech in Culinary Art.
Fawn has worked in the veterinary field for over 18 years and loves it more and more every day. One of her favorite parts about working in this field is the bonds she is able to create with the clients and patients. She has been married for 18 years and has 2 young boys. She also has her 4 legged children, a boxer named Lola and cats; A.J. and Purrcy. She has a passion for photography and takes plenty of pictures while on the sideline watching her youngest son play football. She also loves coaching and watching her oldest son bowl in her “spare” time.
Jessica, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Jessica is from Rushville. She is currently a receptionist and veterinary assistant at Vista Hills, but hopes to be a veterinary technician soon. She attended International Business College and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology in March of 2011, then passed her VTNE that July. She is now working on getting her license. She has a little girl who surprises her all the time and a Mini Australian Shepherd named Willow. She enjoys crocheting, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
Sarah, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Sarah has worked in the veterinary field for the past 10 years and loves what she does. She has been married for 9 years and enjoys spending time with her husband and her fur kids. Sarah and her husband raise and import European Doberman Pinschers. They also have a Siamese cat named Dallas and a German Shepherd named Jett. In her free time Sarah loves spending quality time with her family, going to church, and going on cruises with her husband.
Kim, Office Manager
Kim has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She has been with Vista Hills since it opened. She loves spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, and Zuki her fur baby. In her spare time Kim loves motorcycle roadracing, off roading in their jeeps, concerts, and football.
